Chesed resumed Kabalat Shabbat offline for the first time since the pandemic began

For the first time after a break of more than four years, the Chesed Menachem Charitable Foundation began to hold the Kabalat Shabat program at the Freilachs Club not remotely, but in a regular, face-to-face format, albeit with online broadcasting.

“For many years we were deprived of the opportunity of direct communication in club programs, – says Victoria Opalenko, the head of the club “Freilachs”, – of course, we had numerous online meetings, classes, concerts, excursions, lounges, literary readings, sports events, competitions and holidays, but all this, after all, is a surrogate – nothing can replace live communication, sincerity and warmth of our meetings, the special atmosphere of our club”.

The first offline “Kabalat Shabat” was dedicated to the memorable dates of the second half of January – the Day of Sobornost of Ukraine and the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. There were all the popular sections of the previous “Kabalat Shabat”, there was a special Sabbath guest volunteer Yuri Vakulenko, and the highlight was the performance of the choir “Goldene Meidelacht” under the direction of Nora Krupman, concertmaster Elena Maslova.

“Chesed Menachem” notes that “Kabalat Shabat” in this format is not a one-time event, but a resumption of work on a permanent basis: “From the year 2025, “Kabalat Shabati” in the club “Freilachs”, head Viktoria Opalenko, will be held Shopt’yatnitsi offline, at once in a different format, and an important detail that these events are broadcast in Zoom, for all participants of online activities of Hesed, “Let’s Connect” from Dnipro, Kremenchuk, Kam’yanskyi and Pavlograd”, – stated in the publication of Hesed in social networks.
