Reading of Megillat Esther in the Synagogue

The main reading of the Suva Esther – Megillat Esther – took place in the central synagogue “Golden Rose”. Immediately after the end of the fast on 13 Adar.

At the end of the fast, the Mahatzit ha-Shekel ritual was held, as a reminder of how each man donated half a shekel annually for the maintenance of the Beis ha-Mikdash in Jerusalem. “This year it was very emotional and moving,” said the representative of the chief rabbi at the synagogue, Reuven Milman, “for Mahatzit ha-Shekel, ancient coins were used, which were provided by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminetsky.”

The first reading of the Suva Esther in the central synagogue “Golden Rose” was conducted loudly and emotionally by the head of the “Kollel Torah” project, Rabbi Moishe Leib Weber, and all those present listened attentively, simultaneously reading the text from handwritten scrolls, printed editions and even from electronic versions on their mobile devices. In the places where the name of the main villain is supposed to be “silenced” (and thereby destroyed), an incredible uproar arose in the synagogue.

The reading of the Suva Esther in the synagogue was the beginning of numerous Purim events in the community, and we hope to tell our readers about at least some of them.
