A solemn engagement ceremony, called Vort in Yiddish, was held at the Menorah Center for Alon Pinchas Manuylov, son of the esteemed David Yisroel Dov and Hagith Manuylov, well-known leaders and activists of the Jewish revival.
Alon Manuylov’s chosen one was Leia Ginda Gurko, daughter of the esteemed Benjamin and Esther Gurko from the city of Odesa.
The solemn Vort was conducted by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminetsky, and the engagement was witnessed by Rabbis Moishe Leib Weber and Adam Smilyansky. After Alon Pinchas Manuilov raised the gartel as a sign of his desire to marry, and Leah Ginda accepted it, they were officially declared hosen ve kala – bride and groom, and as a sign of the irreversibility of their decision to marry, the mothers of the bride and groom broke a plate and everyone present shouted “Mazl Tov!”.
The groom’s father, David Yisroel Dov Manuilov, sincerely thanked everyone who came to share the joy of this important event and announced that with G-d’s help, the wedding will take place this summer at the Menorah Center. The numerous attendees recited many “lechaim” in honor of the bride and groom and wished them to stand under the Chuppah as soon as possible and build a happy Jewish family on the solid foundation of the Torah and the commandments.
Mazl Tov!
