On the eve of the Passover holiday, the pupils of the Beit Zindlicht Children’s Educational Center visited the famous Dnipro matzah bakery Tiferet Matzot.
“The excursion to Tiferet Matzot is an important part of the educational process,” says Malka Averbukh, the kindergarten teacher, “it provides an opportunity not only for cognitive but also for direct education in Jewish identity, it is an important experience that will have significance throughout their lives, it is one of those experiences that form a personality.”
Of course, the tour for the kindergarteners was age-appropriate, and the main goal was to interest the children, to give them a personal relationship to the matzah that they will soon eat on Passover and which will have a special meaning for them. The children enjoyed watching how the flour and water were mixed, how the dough was shaped, cut into pieces, rolled out, holes were made in it, and baked in a real oven.
The event was held with the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
