On the eve of Passover, a significant event took place in Dnipro – a solemn ceremony of completion and bringing to the synagogue a new Torah Scroll, which was created and presented to the Jewish community of Dnipro in honor of Leib, son of Zoya Kushnir, for a speedy recovery and longevity.
“This scroll was created in Dnipro at the National Soifer Center, under the leadership of the Chief Soifer of Ukraine, Rabbi Reuven Margolin, at the request and thanks to the support of respected community members: Reuven Kapustin, Alexander Avraham Rutman, Yitzhak Kushnir and Vladislav Pyatigorsky, as well as Yisroel Dovid Lubarsky and Mikhail Markov,“ says Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki, ”we are very grateful to them for this gift and join our prayers for the recovery of Leib son of Zoya Kushnir and ask G-d to bless him for many years in good health.
The Scroll Completion Ceremony was held on the 18th floor of the Menorah Center with the participation of Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region Shmuel Kaminezki, who thanked the donors, emphasizing that their initiative has already created numerous Torah Scrolls that are changing the world for the better in many communities around the world.
After the completion of the Scroll, it was presented by Reb Reuven Kapustin and carried in a solemn procession to the Golden Rose Synagogue where a festive akafot was held.
