Thousands of Jewish families in Dnipro will be able to celebrate Seder thanks to the FJCU.

On the eve of Passover, a major charitable event took place in the Jewish community of Dnipro – 2,200 Jewish families received Seder kits from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, Rabbi Meir Tzvi Stambler, conveyed warm congratulations to all the Jews of Dnipro: “Thank God, the Federation has been helping the Jews of Ukraine celebrate holidays, live a true Jewish life, return to their roots, and restore their traditions and faith in the HaShem for over thirty years. This is especially true for Passover. Passover is the holiday of Liberation. We do not just remember the Exodus from Egypt; we experience and live it anew every year, and our sages have clearly told us how to do this. We gather with family, arrange a meal with matzah and wine according to all the rules required by the Seder.

Thank God, since the early 90s in Ukraine, we have been assisting in organizing community Seders held by Jewish communities in many cities. We have over 150 communities that will be holding Seders this year. Additionally, in recent years, we have started helping people by providing them with Seder kits so that they can celebrate at home, allowing each family to choose whether to attend the community Seder or to hold it at home with relatives and loved ones. After all, the Passover Seder is primarily a family holiday; it focuses primarily on children. During this holiday, we not only educate our children but also build our future, passing traditions on to our descendants so that they remain connected to Judaism. Our Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Kaminetzki, often reminds us of Shimon Peres’s words, that a Jew is not one whose grandfather was a Jew, but one whose grandson will be a Jew. This is what we work for and strive to revive Jewish life, and the Passover Seder is the most appropriate time to emphasize this.

Therefore, it is a great joy and honor for us that this year we delivered 40,000 kits to Jews across Ukraine in various locations, and Jewish families will receive everything they need for the Seder, from handmade matzah to kippahs to cover their heads. The kit contains everything needed to conduct a proper Seder, including a Ukrainian Haggadah, small matzah for children, and large matzah for adults. We have provided everything to ensure a kosher family celebration.

I want to emphasize my admiration for the Jewish community of Dnipro, which leads in all matters of Jewish revival, especially in organizing Passover Seders. They prepare Seders for thousands of people, and everything is organized beautifully and well. We also assist in this by providing matzah, juice, and Haggadot, everything needed for the Passover Seder.

I wish everyone a good, joyful, and kosher Passover – the holiday of Liberation. May this be the first Passover that opens the way to complete true Liberation, with the righteous Moshiach! Wishing you a good and joyful Passover!”

A large distribution of gifts from the FJCU was organized in many locations convenient for members of the Jewish community in Dnipro – at the “Pchelkina House,” synagogues in the city, a kindergarten, and a Jewish lyceum.
