“Leaving Egypt” – a festive performance at Beit Baruch

The Beit Baruch Elderly Care Home of the Jewish Community of Dnipro hosted a festive performance “Leaving Egypt” on the eve of Passover, which helped all the audience prepare for the holiday.

The play touched on the importance of leaving Egypt for every generation and every individual and the importance of rejecting chametz as an integral part of everyday life. It is this rejection that is the basis for the coming liberation; it is a necessary but not sufficient component of it. This is what was discussed in the play, which was created by social worker Rivka Lazareva in collaboration with the musical director of Beit Baruch creative projects Halyna Leikina and head nurse Natalia Huk.

Before the performance began, the audience was warmly greeted by Malvina Ruvinska, director of the Beit Baruch House, who emphasized the importance of celebrating Passover in accordance with all the rules to strengthen Jewish identity at any age. Ms. Natalia Guk recited a wonderful poem that put everyone in a wonderful spring mood, despite the blizzard that was raging outside.

On the eve of Passover, all the residents of Beit Baruch received wonderful holiday packages with matzoh and kosher juice, and the home itself organized a wonderful Seder – a Passover dinner in accordance with all the requirements of Jewish tradition.

The events were supported by the Jewish community of Dnipro.
