During the Chol HaMoed days of Passover, a series of events took place at the “Beit Baruch” Jewish Senior Home of the Dnipro Jewish Community. These events were initiated by social worker Rivka Lazareva, who fondly described them as «Beit Baruch-style Gatherings.”
In a relaxed and informal setting, the elderly residents discussed topics related to the coming of the Righteous Moshiach and their hopes for the complete and final Redemption. As Rivka Lazareva noted, even those seniors who regularly attend Torah classes and strive to keep the mitzvot previously treated her talks about Moshiach as mere fantasy or fairytales. But now, more and more of them see this belief as a logical and hopeful answer to the world’s troubles, and they await His arrival with growing anticipation.
“People are waiting for everything to change,” Rivka shared, “to see once more those who have passed away, and to live in peace. They say that if something as miraculous as the Jewish Community of Dnipro exists – offering support, rescue, and hope – then such transformation can happen globally as well. If the world became like our community – united, caring, and loving – that would be the very Redemption everyone is longing for.”
The events were supported by the Jewish community of Dnipro.
