The May edition of the “Shabbat Shalom” newspaper (issue no. 388) was published in an abbreviated eight-page format.
The front page is entirely devoted to the article “Pesach 5785,” which tells how this holiday was prepared for and celebrated by the Jewish Community of Dnipro.
The second page features an overview of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki’s video messages on the weekly Torah portions, brief notes about the 27th of Nisan — Holocaust Remembrance Day, preparations for Pesach in the “Kolel Torah for Women” program, and in the Solomonika JCC projects.
The third page includes birthday wishes to Stella Alexandrovna Khaitova and a story about the model Seders held by the “Hesed Menachem” Charity Foundation.
The fourth page features a report on the unique program of the Jewish Medical Center (JMC), a special class within the “Jewish Home” community project, and Irina Lazareva’s article «Еscape from Ukraine» (A jewish community’s stories of survival).
The fifth page presents an article by Valentyn Khoroshun about the unique printed edition — “Haggadah for Pesach: For Our Freedom” and its presentation at the “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Museum.
The sixth page includes an article by Oleksandr Bystryakov titled “Dnipro Jews as Alpinists,” along with two more stories on Pesach celebrations — within the JBBBS project and among Solomonika participants.
The seventh page features two articles: Mykola Bulany’s “Aby Warburg: A Jew by Origin, a Hamburger by Heart, a Florentine by Soul” and Ihor Manevych’s “We made the decision to be fired” — about the writing and first publication of Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s “Babi Yar.”
The eighth page traditionally includes greetings, announcements, and a joke.
