Jewish Teens Explore Their Identity at “Teens” Program

As part of the “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” program — run by the Jewish Community of Dnipro with the support of STL and Enerjew (a project of the JRNU Foundation) — a new event took place focused on Jewish individuality and self-awareness.

Beila Letichevskaya, program leader and educator, spoke with the teens about the difference between Yetzer Tov and Yetzer Hara — the good and evil inclinations — and how to strengthen the good one. She emphasized that Jewish uniqueness lies in the concept of Yetzer Tov, and this inner quality plays a central role in Jewish identity.

The second part of the session was dedicated to the Hebrew alphabet, where each letter has its own spiritual significance. “After discussing that, I invited the teens to purchase their own letter in a Torah scroll, sharing a special link with them,” said Beila Letichevskaya.

The event wrapped up with a fast-paced and fun challenge: “Minute to Win It.” Teens split into two teams and competed in exciting one-minute tasks. The atmosphere was lively and competitive, and everyone enjoyed sweet prizes at the end.
