May 14 – Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians Who Rescued Jews During World War II

Today, May 14, Ukraine marks for the fifth time the official Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians Who Rescued Jews During World War II.

This day was established by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine titled “On Honoring the Memory of Ukrainians Who Rescued Jews During World War II” (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/1178-IX#Text). Since 2021, May 14 has been officially observed both at the national and local levels, with various events such as ceremonies, roundtables, online conferences, exhibitions, and more.

A few years ago, the “Museum of Jewish Memory and the Holocaust in Ukraine” prepared a video lecture entitled “Righteous Among the Nations of the Dnipropetrovsk Region: The Return of History,” and we are pleased to share it with our readers.
