At the latest women’s gathering of the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Jewish community of Dnipro, led and developed by the Zislin family, participants explored the meaning of Lag BaOmer and the laws concerning the service of the Kohanim in the Beit HaMikdash.
The class was led by renowned Jewish educator and community leader Leah Maevska, who gave a detailed explanation of the nature, symbolism, and deep significance of the Lag BaOmer holiday for the Jewish people.
The second topic of the evening focused on the Temple service of the Kohanim and the related halachot (Jewish laws), as well as why this topic remains relevant to Jews today — even though the Beit HaMikdash no longer exists in the physical world.
“We discovered many meaningful and fascinating insights,” said Esti Zislin, co-organizer of the project. “The atmosphere was joyful and warm, and the lesson was truly inspiring.”
