Lag BaOmer Concert at “Beit Baruch”

The celebration of Lag BaOmer at the “Beit Baruch” Jewish Elderly Home in Dnipro took the form of a large and long-awaited performance titled “Seize the Fleeting Moment of Life,” created through the creative collaboration of the residents and staff, under the guidance of social worker Rivka Lazareva.

Before the performance, the director of “Beit Baruch,” Malvina Ruvinska, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the play for each participant and every resident. The story reflects one of the core themes connected to the deeper meaning of Lag BaOmer — it inspires and brings hope.

The performance left a powerful impression. Residents were not just spectators — they were active participants: even those who use walkers joined in dancing. Many were moved to tears and sincerely thanked the performers for the unforgettable celebration.

“We prepared this play with great love and wanted to present it especially for Lag BaOmer,” said Rivka Lazareva. “This was our way to express deep gratitude to the Jewish Community of Dnipro and personally to Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for everything they do for ‘Beit Baruch’ and for all Jews in the city — giving us the chance to enjoy life and look forward to the future.”

Currently, “Beit Baruch” is actively preparing for the holiday of Shavuot, during which the creative team plans to present an original play by Yuri Fleishman — another significant event in the cultural life of Dnipro’s Jewish community.
