The students of the prestigious international institution “Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva-Ktana Ukraine,” where future rabbis and leaders of Jewish communities from around the world are educated, received an incredible gift from the Jewish Community of Dnipro – two weeks of carefree and joyful rest at the wonderful “Kohavi Forest Club.”
Over forty yeshiva students, representing various cities and communities across Ukraine, study intensively throughout the year and achieve outstanding success in their Torah studies. Every day is devoted to learning from morning till night. As a reward for their dedication, the Jewish Community of Dnipro gifted them two weeks at the beautiful retreat center “Kohavi Forest Club” in a special “Summer Yeshiva” format, combining study with recreational activities and rich Jewish life.
Each day was filled with vibrant experiences — prayers, classes with outstanding teachers, sports, meals, more study, walks and games, as well as communal events like barbecues and farbrengens. In addition to three regular generous and delicious kosher meals, students were offered mezonot snacks, coffee, and tea throughout the day, and in the evenings, additional treats such as farbrengens or other refreshments.
This entire experience became possible thanks to the tireless efforts of the leadership board of “Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva-Ktana Ukraine,” which includes Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region Shmuel Kaminezki, Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine Council Rabbi Mayer Tzvi Stambler, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine Council Rabbi Raphael Rutman, and the ongoing support of generous sponsors — Yisroel Hirsch (Igor) Chervonenko, Eduardo Azar, Binyamin Demchenko, and Menachem Mendel Abramenko. The rabbis and educators — Rabbi Eliyahu Heifer, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Feldman, and Rabbi Moishe Neuman — made every effort to ensure that the students’ time was uplifting and unforgettable.
“I saw with my own eyes the profound impact this trip had on the hearts of the boys — how they were enriched not only with knowledge, but with friendship, shared moments, and inspiration,” says Rabbi Eliyahu Heifer. “This is a time when Torah and joy merge naturally and harmoniously, and that makes the experience deep, luminous, and long-lasting. It’s an event everyone eagerly anticipates, prepares for, and dreams of repeating. It gives strength, light, and hope to each participant. We sincerely thank the Jewish Community of Dnipro — without them, none of this would have been possible.”
