On this day, it is customary in Chabad communities around the world to hold special gatherings — Torah classes, study sessions, farbrengens, and kinusim. It is also traditional to write a pidyon nefesh — a heartfelt letter to the Rebbe requesting a blessing — and have it placed at his Ohel in Queens, New York.
