A joyful message has arrived from Germany – a brit milah ceremony was held in the Chabad Jewish community of Berlin for the son of Dnipro Jewish Community members Moishe Chaim Weisman and his wife Simcha Bracha.
The baby’s father kindly shared the details with our website:
“The honored role of kvaterim — the couple who carry the baby into the hall — was given to Yosef Shlomo and Rivka Lutzovich.
The blessing letter from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, was read by Rabbi Mendel Brandwein. The Russian translation was delivered by Rav Elisha Pavlotsky, and the German one by Levi Klein.
The baby was then blessed by Shlomo HaCohen Kowalski, a descendant of the Kohanim.
Eli Rufulayev was called upon to place the child on the Chair of Elijah, and Uriel ben Tzvi Hirsh lifted him from the chair and handed him to his father.
The honored role of the sitting sandak (the person who holds the baby during the circumcision) was performed by Levi Yitzchak Soroka.
The circumcision was performed by Dr. Alexander Malkov, and the standing sandak (the one who holds the baby during the pronouncement of his name – amidah le-brachot) was Rabbi Avraham Golovachev.
Rabbi David Teichtel was invited to recite the blessings and announce the baby’s name, which he declared — David.”
All those present responded to the blessings recited during the ceremony by wishing little David to grow up to enter the covenant of Torah, the chuppah, and good deeds.
Immediately after the ceremony, a mitzvah meal (seudat mitzvah) was held, which is considered a special merit to attend.
The Jewish community of Dnipro and our website warmly congratulate Moishe Chaim and Simcha Bracha Weisman on the Brit Milah of their son David, and wish the child to grow up healthy and happy, to bring much joy to his parents, and to reach the Torah, the chuppah, and good deeds.
Mazal Tov!
