During the second session of the “Gan Levi Yitzchak” summer retreat—organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro for the families of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s shluchim and other observant families at the elegant Kohavi Forest Club—a memorable visit took place.
Participants warmly welcomed a long‑time friend of the community, David (Serhii Oleksandrovych) Reznik, the mayor of the city of Samar (formerly Novomoskovsk).
“Thanks to his personal involvement, support, and genuine concern, this year’s retreat has become a reality—an experience that is vitally important for the shluchim families, explained retreat director Leah Brez.
Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki joined all the attendees in expressing heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Reznik for his invaluable contribution. On behalf of the community, he was presented with a unique expanded edition of the Pentateuch, compiled based on the commentaries of Rashi and the works of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, as well as a special Kiddush cup”.
