The second session of the summer retreat at “Gan Levi Yitzchak”, organized by the Jewish Community of Dnipro, has come to a close. The retreat was held at the luxurious and comfortable Kohavi Forest Club, nestled in a scenic and eco-friendly spot on the banks of the Samara River. It welcomed the families of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s emissaries working in Dnipro, as well as other religious families.
This session was filled with vibrant and unforgettable experiences for both adults and children. Its rich program focused on strengthening family bonds based on traditional Jewish values. Over the course of nine days, participants enjoyed games, workshops, hands-on activities, and sports competitions — all planned to make each day feel like part of a continuous magical celebration. The only exception was the 17th of Tammuz fast day, which naturally featured a very different program.
One of the highlights of this session was a fun kayaking trip for the boys through the picturesque surroundings, while the youngest children took part in daily Hebrew reading classes led by Rabbi Shlomo Segal, who introduced them to the Hebrew alphabet and taught proper pronunciation.
A standout moment of the children’s program was the giant bubble foam game, which brought boundless joy on a hot summer afternoon.
At the final party celebrating the end of the second session of the “Gan Levi Yitzchak” retreat, each family was honored and received a special certificate along with an original gift that sparked genuine excitement. For the children, there was also a special event called “The Store,” where boys and girls could exchange the points they had earned throughout the retreat — during lessons, competitions, quizzes, and other activities — for prizes.
“We are very grateful to the Jewish Community of Dnipro and its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for the opportunity to organize such a wonderful summer retreat and enjoy so much joy and positivity in an atmosphere of true Yiddishkeit,” said Leah Brez, director of the “Gan Levi Yitzchak” summer retreat. “The second session has concluded, and the third and final session of this year’s retreat has already begun. We are confident it will be just as joyful and meaningful as the ones before.”
