At the world’s largest Jewish center, the Menorah, a day camp for girls in grades 1–9, organized by Dnipro Jewish Community, has officially started. The camp is called “Mecholalot Meapicha,” which can be roughly translated as “those who bring about great change through movement (dance).”
Camp directors Edna Yudovich and Malky Feldman emphasize that the name itself reflects the core idea of the camp: even small actions can lead to great—and sometimes global—transformations. This echoes the famous words of American astronaut Neil Armstrong, spoken as he first stepped onto the Moon: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” In the same spirit, the “Mecholalot Meapicha” camp empowers girls to bring the coming of the Righteous Moshiach closer through their daily actions—each small step building toward a monumental result.
“The first day of ‘Mecholalot Meapicha’ began with the introduction of the camp’s theme, singing the camp song, splitting into three age-based groups, and getting to know the madrichot—incredible young emissaries from Israel: Eidy Bloy, Devorah Sima Romanovsky, Musya, and Inda Elishevitz, who were specially invited to lead the camp,” says Edna Yudovich. “After that, the girls prayed, received themed booklets for the day’s lesson, created posters with their group names, made ice cream, had lunch, played games, and decorated eco-bags to finish the day. It was a joyful, eventful day filled with spiritual inspiration.”
