Thematic Weeks on the Days of Creation Conclude at Beit Tsindlicht

For a month and a half, the Beit Tsindlicht Children’s Educational Center — the main preschool institution of the Jewish Community of Dnipro — held a series of thematic weeks under the unifying concept: “The Six Days of Creation: The Beautiful World Around Us.”

Throughout this period, the children explored the vast diversity of the world created by the Almighty — both living and non-living — and learned about space and weather, hydrology and geography, as well as the wide variety of biological wonders that make up the natural world, brought into existence by the Creator 5785 years ago.

In the final week, the focus shifted to land animals — both domestic and wild. Children learned to recognize their main features and discussed the importance of biodiversity for humanity. A special highlight was the opportunity for hands-on encounters with real animals: goats, representing creatures created on the sixth day, and ducklings and chicks, which had been studied in earlier weeks.

These lessons were not limited to classroom study. Animals were explored through music and creative arts, fun games incorporating elements of hobby horsing and quadrobing, and enthusiastic storytelling sessions, where children shared their own experiences meeting animals in everyday life and on family trips. Educators skillfully instilled in the children a gentle appreciation for nature and an early understanding of ecological responsibility.

“These six weeks were incredibly important for shaping a holistic worldview and helping the children perceive the world as a unified, complex system created by our Creator,” explained Beit Tsindlicht Director Rebbetzin Risha Gurievich. “A proper understanding of the order and logic of creation, introduced in early childhood, is essential for developing a well-rounded personality and a meaningful place in the fabric of the universe.”
