The latest men’s session of the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Dnipro Jewish Community—developing actively thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family—was dedicated to the Three Weeks of Mourning from the 17th of Tammuz to the 9th of Av.
Rabbi David Vayskovsky taught about the laws and customs of Tisha B’Av, and explained how, in Chabad, this period is not only one of sorrow and mourning, but also a time of hope, spiritual closeness to the Creator, and active preparation for the coming Redemption.
Despite the gravity of the topic, the session was far from pessimistic. It took place in an atmosphere of readiness for positive action to spread light and hasten the Geulah. “Learning is a joy—even when we speak about painful matters,” emphasized the project leader, Levi Zislin.
