As part of the cooperation between the Jewish Community of Dnepr and the regional psychiatric hospital, a major charity event was carried out to help this respected medical institution.
We have already reported that the Chief Rabbi of Dnepr Shmuel Kaminetsky and the general director of the hospital, Professor Svetlana Moroz, held a number of meetings on the issue of memorializing the burial of victims of Nazism on the territory of the hospital and the worthy perpetuation of the memory of the dead, among whom are patients and doctors of the hospital, including the brother of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson – Dov-Ber Schneerson, the second son of the Chief Rabbi of Yekaterinoslav-Dnepropetrovsk, the righteous Rabbi Levi-Yitzchak Schneerson.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro also decided to help this medical institution by transferring funds for the purchase of products deemed necessary by the hospital administration. “Helping patients, especially those with mental disorders, is part of the Jewish tradition, and we are very happy to do this good deed,” said Rabbi Reuven Kaminetsky.
In turn, the general director of the Dnepropetrovsk Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital for the Provision of Psychiatric Care, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Svetlana Moroz noted the importance of cooperation between the hospital and civil society institutions, including national, religious associations and charitable organizations created by such structures. “We are very grateful for any help, because it has not only a material component, it is a real action that leads to a better world, has a positive impact not only on those who receive, but also on those who give,” said Professor Svetlana Moroz, “I am grateful to Rabbi Kaminetsky and the Jewish Community of Dnepr, which does so much to make our world better and brighter.”
