Girls from the “PlayBack” camp visited the “Or Shalom” center

Participants in the “PlayBack” day camp, organized by the Jewish Community of Dnepr for girls aged 6 to 14, visited the “Or Shalom” psychological assistance center, which operates at the “Solomonika” Jewish Cultural Center and with the support of the “Joint”.

A master class was organized for the camp participants on the technique of working with texture paste, with the help of which art works were created on canvas. The master class was conducted by the center’s specialist Maria Tkachenko, and child psychologist Elina Khatueva told how various images can be interpreted and what they can tell about the psychological state of their creator.

“It was a synthesis of an art lesson and an introduction to a psychological approach,” says Natalia Medvedeva, director of the “Or Shalom center”. “It was neither a consultation nor a group lesson. It was an edutainment-style event that combined education in an entertaining form, and the participants of the “PlayBack” camp really liked it. This meeting, like the lesson for the children from the “Mikdash Kids” children’s camp, which took place in a completely different format, can serve as a vivid example of the integrated interaction of our center with the Jewish community.”
