The ceremony “Hanukat HaBayt” within the framework of the project “100 mezuzahs for 100 houses”

As part of a large charity project of the Jewish community of Dnepr, which was called “100 mezuzahs for 100 houses”, the ceremony “Hanukat HaBayt” was held in the house of Vladimir Gornostaev, a parishioner of the synagogue “Golden Rose”.

“Vladimir recently began attending the synagogue and getting closer to the Torah and the commandments,” says Rabbi Reuven Milman, “and seeing his interest and sincere desire for the light of Yiddishkeit, I suggested installing a mezuzah in his house within the framework of this program. It was a very moving ceremony and in addition to this commandment, Vladimir performed another one with my help – he laid tefillin with all the required blessings.”

We have already written about the progress of the “100 mezuzahs for 100 houses” project in the Jewish Community of Dnipro here – https://djc.com.ua/ru/vazhnye-novosti/programma-evrejskoj-obshhiny-dnepra-100-mezuz-dlya-100-domov and here – https://djc.com.ua/ru/novosti/proekt-100-mezuz-dlya-100-domov-vyhodit-na-novyj-etap and we would like to remind you that the idea of the project came from one of the Rebbe’s emissaries in Dnipro, Rabbi Akiva Romanovsky, who, during the lighting of Hanukkah candles in the homes of Jews, drew attention to the fact that many still did not have a mezuzah. This initiative was supported by the Jewish Community of Dnipro and the program found a patron. Mezuzahs are being created under the supervision of the Chief Sofer of Ukraine, Rabbi Reuven Margolin. The project is currently being implemented to the credit of Eliezer Abramenko, Levi Yitzhak Abramenko, Reuven Kaminezki, Menachem Mendel Kaminezki, Yosef Yitzhak Kaminezki, Zvi-Girsh ben Ley and Igor ben Zoy. At this stage, it is planned to install one mezuzah per apartment, and one hundred Jewish homes in Dnipro will receive their own shrine – this will be a significant contribution to the spread of the light of Yiddishkeit.
