A festive ceremony marking the beginning of the new school year took place in an atmosphere of joy and great spiritual uplift for all the students of Machon “Chaya-Mushka,” the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community for girls.
The event was held in the sports hall, where all the students of the Machon and their teachers gathered. They were warmly greeted by the director of Machon “Chaya-Mushka,” Mrs. Rachel Milman, who wished everyone a good and productive year. Then, Rabbi David Vaskovsky conducted the shofar-blowing ceremony, which is customary to hear every weekday during the month of Elul as an important part of the preparation for the holiday of Rosh HaShanah.
Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezki addressed the students of the Machon with encouraging words, emphasizing the importance of acquiring Jewish knowledge and Jewish upbringing for every Jewish girl. Afterwards, everyone watched a video of the Rebbe and recited the appropriate Tehillim (Psalms) in his honor.
This was followed by a welcome for the new students of the Machon, who were warmly greeted by all present and invited to recognize their teachers from childhood photos. A large riddle game continued with the participation of other classes—the girls guessed favorite dishes or hobbies, and each class successfully solved the riddles presented to them.
To conclude the celebration, the girls sang the famous “Twelve Pesukim” with great spiritual uplift and enthusiasm. Upon exiting, they were surprised with specially prepared sweet gifts for this day.
“The celebration at the Machon passed, as always, very joyfully, creatively, and with great spiritual meaning,” shared Mrs. Rachel Milman, director of Machon “Chaya-Mushka.” “We are very grateful to Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezki for personally participating in our event and blessing all our students. Thanks to the Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, we have the opportunity to raise girls as true Jewish princesses and provide them with the best Jewish education.”
