The day of 18 Elul was marked in a special way at the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, which is actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family. On this day, a festive ceremony was held to present tefillin to one of the project’s active participants, Denys Doroshenko.
The gift was solemnly presented by Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki of “Menorah Community,” who emphasized that this became possible thanks to the support of the Jewish Community of Dnipro and the participation of project members Yonatan Klymentyev, Levi Levin, David Meir Hirsch Bondar, Natan Khodorovsky, and Michael Aaron Galperin.
“It is no coincidence that this significant event took place on Chai Elul – the birthday of two great luminaries, the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe. In our community, such a meaningful gift was presented on this very day, which is highly symbolic. It strengthens the spiritual bond and inspires new steps in serving the Almighty,” said project leader Levi Zislin. “The mitzvah of tefillin is one of the central commandments in the life of a Jewish man, for every weekday it reminds him of closeness to the Almighty, uniting the mind, heart, and actions in serving G-d.”
