The charitable organization Jewish Relief Network Ukraine organized an educational security training session at the Dnipro Jewish Community for leaders of structural subdivisions and activists of the Jewish community. The training was conducted by Ilya Golberg, Chief Security Advisor at JRNU.
The primary focus was less on building a systemic security apparatus for Jewish institutions, and more on developing algorithms for the administration and staff to follow in case of an emergency or a real threat.
Using numerous examples, Ilya Golberg demonstrated how preparedness and a consistent series of simple actions can prevent very severe and negative consequences. He provided a detailed breakdown of how to act in various situations. Particular attention was paid to the experience and protocols for security threats from employees of Jewish organizations in different countries, and how the level of staff preparedness and awareness directly influences the choice of the correct behavioral model.
“We are very grateful to the Jewish Relief Network Ukraine for organizing this training,” noted Rabbi Reuven Kamenezki. “Security is not only about technical measures but also about the readiness of each individual to understand its importance and know how to act in any situation: what to pay attention to, how to assess the situation, and how to build correct behavior. The training conducted by Ilya Golberg, the Chief Security Advisor at JRNU, was extremely useful, and we are deeply grateful for this event.”
