Jewish Teenagers Mark the End of the Tishrei Holidays with a Major Team Game

The latest Sunday meeting of the “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” adolescent program, implemented by the Dnipro Jewish Community with the support of STL and the JRNU Foundation’s EnerJew project, was dedicated to summarizing the period of the Tishrei holidays and a major team game held at one of Dnipro’s laser tag venues.

The teenagers shared with each other and their leaders their successes in performing the commandments during the Tishrei holidays, their participation in Jewish community events, and their deepening connection to Yiddishkeit. The boys who had turned thirteen laid tefillin, and all together, boys and girls, celebrated their achievements in studying Jewish laws and traditions.

Afterwards, everyone headed to an entertainment center to participate in LaserTag – a team game similar to paintball but without balls or paint, where participants use special laser blasters (infrared ray guns) and wear vests or bands with sensors that register hits. (LaserTag is a safe and dynamic activity that uses modern technology to create the atmosphere of a real battle without any harm to the participants.)

“During the game, the children split into two teams and competed against each other,” said “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” coordinator Beila Letichevskaya. “It wasn’t just running around; it was genuine teamwork with thoughtful game tactics. We had a sea of positive emotions, a wonderful time, and we thank the Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki for this opportunity.”
