Women’s Health Day Held in Dnipro on the Initiative of “Project Kesher”

A traditional October “Women’s Health Day” took place in Dnipro, dedicated to the worldwide breast cancer awareness month and organized by the All-Ukrainian Women’s Organization “Project Kesher” in cooperation with the “Jewish Health Center” Charitable Foundation and the “JMC” Jewish Medical Center.

“Project Kesher” has been conducting such campaigns annually for over thirty years, as they contribute to raising women’s awareness and improving the prevention and early diagnosis of breast diseases. This year, as part of the “Women’s Health Day” campaign, forty-four women from the Dnipro Jewish Community were able to undergo preventive examinations at the “JMC” clinic. Unlike previous years, when such campaigns detected a considerable number of pathologies, this time only one case was identified. However, this allows for the preservation of what is most precious to every person – life and health – thanks to early detection and timely measures.

“This was a charitable event during which women could free of charge undergo examinations by a gynecologist and a mammologist, receive doctor consultations, and if necessary, get referrals for additional tests and examinations,” said Ella Goncharova, a representative of “Project Kesher.” “Every woman, after visiting the doctor, received a thematic flyer issued by ‘Project Kesher,’ featuring a QR code with a link to self-examination recommendations, as well as a sweet souvenir – pink marshmallow, symbolizing the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We express our sincere gratitude to the General Director of ‘JMC,’ Professor Oleksandr Rodynskyi; Medical Director Viktor Belianushkin; mammologist-oncologist Kateryna Romanus; gynecologist Dmytro Terzi; and Head Administrator Iryna Seliuk.”
