A brit milah ceremony was held in the main prayer hall of the Central “Golden Rose” Synagogue for the son of Michoel Muzikin and his wife Malka.
The honorary role of kvaters – the couple who bring the child into the hall – was given to the Livshits family, Rabbi Shmuel and his wife Chaya Mushka.
The role of placing the child on the Chair of Elijah the Prophet was assigned to the head of the kashrut department of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Rabbi of “Beit Chabad Levi-Yitzchak,” Yisroel Aryeh-Leib Gurevich, and the role of lifting him from the chair was assigned to Rabbi Sender Listopadov.
Then, to read a letter of blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the deputy secretary of the rabbinical court, Avraham Yosef Yitzchak Karshembaum, was called upon, and its translation into Russian was done by Reb Shlomo David Bialsky.
The crucial and key role of the sandak (the person who holds the infant during the circumcision) was entrusted to Rabbi Akiva Romanovsky.
The circumcision ritual was performed by the chief mohel of Ukraine and Moldova, Rabbi Yakov Gaysinovich, assisted by Rabbi Reuven Milman.
The mission of the standing sandak (the person who holds the child during the naming blessings – “amida l’vrachot”) was given to Reb Michoel Pinkus.
To recite the blessings and announce the baby’s name, the leading sofer of the “National Sofer Center of Ukraine,” Reb Aryeh Leib Gaysinsky, was invited, and he proclaimed that the baby’s name is David ben Michoel.
All those present, responding to the blessings recited during the ceremony, wished the young David that just as he entered the covenant of Abraham, so too may he come to Torah, the marriage canopy, and good deeds.
Immediately after the ceremony, the commanded festive meal, the “seudat mitzvah,” took place, participation in which is a special merit.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro and our website congratulate Michoel and Malka Muzikin on the brit milah of their son David and wish the child to grow up healthy and happy, to bring much joy to his parents, and to come to Torah, the marriage canopy, and good deeds.
Mazl Tov!
