Thanks to an initiative by the Dnipro city authorities, solar panels have been installed in many of the city’s educational institutions, including the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, the leading educational institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community.
“We sincerely thank the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Dnipro City Council for installing solar panels in our institution,” said the Lyceum’s Director, Olena Krasnova. “This is not only a step towards energy efficiency, modern learning conditions, and an ecological future for our students, but also an opportunity to continue the educational process during power outages.”
A statement from the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Dnipro City Council emphasized that this initiative is primarily aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of children, even during prolonged power outages or the need to stay in shelters. This is because the solar panels power the lighting, ventilation, sewage system, and fire and security alarms. All these systems automatically activate and ensure uninterrupted operation, meaning that even during power cuts, the schools remain protected, and the children and staff stay safe.
