Farbrengens in Honor of the 9th-10th of Kislev at the Golden Rose Synagogue

Farbrengens (Chassidic gatherings) dedicated to the birthday and Yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of the Second Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Dov Ber Schneersohn (the Mitteler Rebbe), observed on the 9th of the month of Kislev, as well as the day of his Liberation from Russian imprisonment, observed on the 10th of Kislev, took place at the central Dnipro synagogue, the “Golden Rose.”

The Farbrengens, attended by congregants of the Golden Rose Synagogue, leaders and activists of the Dnipro Jewish Community, and Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries working in our city, proceeded with great spiritual elevation in a genuine Chassidic atmosphere. They featured the singing of nigunim (Chassidic melodies), stories about the profound spiritual significance of these dates, and accounts of how the Mitteler Rebbe fought to save Jewish children and opposed anti-Jewish laws being introduced in the Russian Empire during his time.

Events dedicated to these important dates on the Jewish calendar also took place at many institutions of the Dnipro Jewish Community. Furthermore, on the 10th of Kislev, representatives of the community visited the Ohel of the Mitteler Rebbe, located in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, and participated in a joint prayer at the grave of the great Tzadik.
