Girls from the “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” Program Participated in the “Hero’s Code” Shabbaton

Twelve representatives from the teenage program “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew,” implemented by the Dnipro Jewish Community with the support of STL and the JRNU Foundation’s EnerJew project, took part in the major all-Ukrainian girls’ Shabbaton “Hero’s Code.”

The Shabbaton was held in the Zakarpattia region and gathered over sixty girls from all over Ukraine. They spent several days in an atmosphere of authentic Yiddishkeit, filled with positive emotions, vibrant events, and special educational activities.

However, Dnipro was represented not only by a large and united delegation of participants from the “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew” project. The Chief Rabbi and Rebbetzin of the Shabbaton were Moshe Leib Weber and Shoshana Weber, and the head of the Dnipro delegation, Aliza Rabinovich, was appointed the “Shaliach Chinuch” (educational director) for the entire Shabbaton, as it was largely dedicated to Jewish education and opportunities for acquiring it in the State of Israel.

“For every girl, this Shabbaton was filled with emotions, drive, spiritual energy, and the sincere joy of friendly communication,” shares Bela Letichevskaya, the coordinator of “DJCY – STL Teens – EnerJew.” “But beyond that, the content held great significance – lectures, classes, events, Torah lessons, participating in preparing for Shabbat and its observance – all of this creates a special inner state where you’re not just relaxing but growing spiritually. This is precisely what the participants come for: not only to receive positive emotions but also to learn new things, reflect deeply, ask questions, and find answers. We are very grateful for the opportunity, with the support of the Dnipro Jewish Community, for our girls to participate in this Shabbaton.”
