Two Students of the Jewish Lyceum Have Entered the Covenant of Abraham

Our website is delighted to announce that two students of the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144 have made the important decision to enter the Covenant of Abraham (Brit Milah). Dima Yakushin, a 7th-grade student, took the Hebrew name Aharon (Aaron), and Nikita Vitynyk, an 8th-grade student, took the name Noam. The classes, together with their teachers, decided to celebrate this significant event, which became a true celebration for both families.

The Brit Milah ceremony for both boys took place at the Jewish Medical Center “JMC”. The ritual was performed by the Chief Mohel of Ukraine and Moldova, Rabbi Yakov Gaisinovich, a representative of the international organization “Brit Yosef Yitzchak,” assisted by Professor Alexander Rodinsky. The honored role of sandak for Aharon and Noam was performed by esteemed community members Rafael Sapozhnikov and David Kropyvsky.

The boys’ families expressed immense gratitude. Aharon’s mother, Sheina Yakushina, shared touching words: “Today my son entered the Covenant of Abraham. I am endlessly grateful to our community and the sponsors for the assistance provided and the opportunity to fulfill this important commandment. This is very valuable and heartwarming for our family.”

Equally warm were the words of Noam’s mother, Nina Vitynyk: “I want to thank the Dnipro Jewish Community and the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Lyceum for the warmth and care with which you surrounded us on this day. It was a great honor for us that our son entered the Covenant of Abraham. We felt genuine support, unity, and spiritual strength. Thank you to Rabbi Yakov Gaisinovich, Professor Alexander Rodinsky, David Kropyvsky, and everyone who was with us. May the Almighty bless our community for all the good you give to people.”

“The boys expressed particular gratitude to the Dnipro Jewish Community, as well as to Chief Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminezki and Rabbi Reuven Kaminezki,” said the Lyceum’s Jewish Traditions teacher, Leah Lazareva, “for their constant support, care for the children, and assistance in fulfilling this sacred commandment.”

On the occasion of this important event, the boys received gifts: Aharon Yakushin was given an electric scooter, and Noam Vitynyk received a monetary gift.

Our website joins in all the congratulations and wishes Aharon Yakushin and Noam Vitynyk to grow up to Torah, the wedding canopy (chuppah), and good deeds.

Mazl Tov!
