A men’s shiur dedicated to Chanukah took place in the youth project “Menorah Community” of the Dnipro Jewish Community, which is actively developing thanks to the efforts of the Zislin family. It became another profound and inspiring stage in the collective understanding of Jewish tradition.
The shiur was conducted by Rabbi Zalman Rabinovich, and the conversation focused on the meanings of Chanukah, its history, and the spiritual ideas that remain relevant today. It revealed familiar events on a much deeper level, allowing participants to see traditions from a new perspective, not just as a set of customs, but as a living and integral system of values.
Such meetings in “Menorah Community” help not only to gain knowledge about the chag but also to feel its inner light, to experience Chanukah as a personal and communal chavaya, where knowledge combines with emotion and learning intertwines with warm human communication, creating a special atmosphere of trust and involvement.
“This shiur was truly powerful and very interesting; we felt how the words of the Torah and Chassidic tradition fill Chanukah with living meaning,” noted Levi Zislin, one of the founders of “Menorah Community.” “And ahead of us awaits a special charitable campaign for spreading the light of Chanukah, acts of kindness, and practical action, which we conduct each Chanukah to emphasize the unity and cohesion of all projects of the Dnipro Jewish Kehillah under the leadership of its Rav, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
