The candle-lighting ceremony on the fourth evening of Hanukkah was held with special solemnity at Beit Chabad Levi Yitzhak in Dnipro, one of the synagogues of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, located on Nauki Avenue.
The ceremony began with the lighting of a large Chanukiah in front of the entrance to Beit Chabad Levi Yitzhak, led by one of its founders, Yitzhak (Yevgeny Borisovich) Dveris, a respected member of the Jewish Community of Dnipro. Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region Shmuel Kaminezki warmly congratulated everyone who attended the holiday, and the ceremony’s master of ceremonies, Chaplain Yakov Sinyakov, offered a special blessing for the founders of this Beit Chabad, Yitzhak Dveris and Levi Sharinov.
In the prayer hall of Beit Chabad Levi Yitzchak, the Chanukiah was lit by Mr. Natan Zolotarevsky, a respected member of the Dnipro Jewish Community and one of its recognized leaders, who then shared an inspiring Hasidic maysa with those present.
A wonderful musical group, the choir of our city’s yeshiva students, performed at the celebration, touching the hearts of all guests. A fun and exciting game of sevivon for kosher candies was organized for children in a special room, while adults could raise “l’chaim” for the prosperity of the united and united Jewish Community of Dnipro under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki at a buffet served in the Beit Chabad Levi Yitzchak building.
