Hanukkah-5786 at the Beit Baruch Home

During the days of the Hanukkah holiday, the Beit Baruch Home for the Elderly, a unique social institution of the Jewish community of Dnipro, hosts numerous Hanukkah events. On the eve of the holiday, a large festive concert was held here, community activists brought gifts to all residents, and every evening of the holiday, dozens of Hanukkahs are lit in cozy rooms and public spaces, bringing joy and filling Beit Baruch with the atmosphere of a Hanukkah miracle.

Every evening, the ceremonial lighting of the main Hanukkah in the presence of residents and employees of Beit Baruch is conducted by the rabbi of the Home for the Elderly, Levi Artyushkin. Everyone listens attentively to the blessings, responds “Amen,” admires the light of the Hanukkah lights, and then they arrange a small party with dancing, filling their hearts with true Hanukkah joy.

“We tried to make this holiday unforgettable and very homely,” says Malvina Ruvinska, director of Beit Baruch. “The lighting of the Hanukkah candles, incredibly delicious donuts prepared with great love by our chefs, memories of a wonderful performance prepared by our creative studio and a concert by students of the Jewish lyceum, gifts from various programs of our community, in particular from the Menorah Community, all this helps us feel the warmth and care with which the united and united Jewish community of Dnipro, led by Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezky, treats our residents.”
