A new episode of the educational project “Talmud in 8 Minutes” by Dnipro’s Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki has been released on the YouTube channel “Menorah.” This time, the short but substantial shiur is dedicated to a topic many encounter in daily life, which often becomes a source of misunderstandings and conflicts between people.
It concerns a situation where a service has already been rendered, although no one ordered it. Should payment be made for it? Does the performer have the right to demand compensation if the recipient did not give consent and did not intend to use this service? Based on the Talmudic source Bava Kama 101, Rabbi Shmuel demonstrates that such questions were discussed almost two thousand years ago, and the answers given by the sages remain remarkably relevant today.
In his explanation, Rabbi Shmuel reveals how the wisdom of the Torah helps to look at such situations soberly and justly, avoid escalating disputes, and find a solution that takes into account the interests of both parties. This episode is addressed to everyone who wants to learn how to properly deal with everyday and financial matters, act honestly and with respect for another person, while preserving peace and inner harmony.
The new lesson is already available on the “Menorah” channel. Watch the video and share your thoughts – the topics raised by the Talmud continue to speak to us in the language of our daily lives.
