Homemade Hanukkah for parishioners of “Beit Chabad on the Fields”

For Jews attending Beit Chabad on the Fields, one of the institutions of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, two special Hanukkah events were organized during the eight-day holiday, which this year falls on December 14-22.

The events were held at the home of Rabbi Levi Engelsman of the Chabad of Beit Polya, and on the first evening, more than ten people participated in the celebration, and on the second, more than twenty. Rabbi Levi Engelsman lit the candles on the hanukkah, after which he gave a lesson on the close connection between the concepts of Hanukkah, housewarming (in Hebrew, Hanukat ha-Bayt), and upbringing (in Hebrew, Hinukh), because these cognate words also have a special spiritual connection, which the rabbi revealed.

One of the parishioners of “Beit Chabad on the Fields”, Mr. Valeriy Litman, prepared a special musical program for these evenings, which delighted everyone present, and a special family atmosphere was created by Hanukkah treats and various games, both modern intellectual and traditional – the famous dreidel, which is an integral attribute of celebrating Hanukkah with the family.

“The evenings were very warm, because Hanukkah is primarily a home holiday, when the magical light of miracles brings joy to both families themselves and the world around us, with whom we share this holiday,” says Rabbi Levi Engelsman. “We are very happy to have the opportunity to celebrate Hanukkah evenings together with those who visit our “Beit Chabad on the Fields,” and we express our sincere gratitude for this opportunity to the united and united Jewish community of Dnipro under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezky.”
