In the lead-up to Hanukkah 5786, the Dnipro Jewish Community, like more than 150 cities across Ukraine, held a major charity event – the distribution of thousands of holiday packages to Jewish families from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine.
We present a captivating video report of this event in Dnipro, where Jewish families received packages from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine both before Hanukkah (read more about this here) and during the special campaign “Mivtzoim Hanukkah 5786” (read more about this on our website here). This video will take you right into the heart of these charity events, sensing their rhythm and intensity.
As a reminder, the FJC set included everything necessary for the holiday: a compact Hanukkah wick, a set of candles, chocolate coins for the Hanukkah gelt custom, a book for the whole family to read with children, and a very special gift – a copy of a unique edition of the complete Ukrainian translation of the five books of the Torah with the addition of the Haftorot.
The Jewish Community of Dnipro expresses its boundless gratitude to the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine and its leader, Rabbi Meir Zvi Stambler, for their comprehensive assistance and support in celebrating Jewish holidays, bringing thousands of Jewish families closer to Yiddishkeit, and for their colossal efforts to spread the spiritual light of the Torah and the commandments that make the world a better and brighter place.
