The Dnipro Jewish Community held the grand opening of the winter camp for girls, “Girls Winter Day Camp Gan Yisroel Dnipro 5786,” which traditionally takes place during the winter holidays, uniting participants around learning, creativity, and deep Jewish content.
This year, 36 girls are participating in the camp, and its theme is “The Five Senses” – touch, smell, sight, hearing, and speech. Each day of the camp will be dedicated to one of the senses and a discussion about how, through it, a person can serve Hashem, realizing that the body and soul are given to a person not by chance, but as tools for a meaningful, fulfilling life and spiritual growth. Through activities, games, and discussions, the girls will discover how to use all their abilities for good and with gratitude.
The work of “Girls Winter Day Camp Gan Yisroel Dnipro 5786” is led by one of the young leaders of the community, the talented teacher Leah Lazareva. With the help of an experienced and competent team of madrichot – head counselor Rosa Nachshon, and counselors: Malki Stambler, Rivka Milman, Rachel Nachshon, Chaya Romanovskaya, Neta Shabatova, Adel Yandyuk, and Maryashi Glick – she has prepared a diverse and well-thought-out program where learning harmoniously combines with joy, warmth, and lively interaction.
The camp runs from December 30 to January 6 on the grounds of the MHPI “Beit Chana,” which warmly hosts the camp participants and staff, creating comfortable conditions for learning, creativity, and bright, unforgettable experiences of genuine Jewish achdus.
“We are very happy that the winter camp ‘Girls Winter Day Camp Gan Yisroel Dnipro 5786’ is taking place here, on the grounds of the ‘Beit Chana’ Institute, and we are grateful to it for this opportunity,” said the camp director, Leah Lazareva. “Our Jewish community has been organizing a similar camp for several years now, and each time it becomes a major event for everyone involved. I am confident that this year, too, it will be a special time filled with meaning, joy, and warmth, when during the winter holidays in Dnipro, girls can learn, develop, and feel part of a large and caring community. We sincerely thank the Dnipro Jewish Community for its support and the opportunity to carry out this important and beloved project.”
