Today, on the day of Yud Shvat – the yahrtzeit of the Previous, Sixth Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, and the acceptance of leadership by Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson – we are publishing a video dedicated to the history of this special day.
At the heart of the video are the recollections of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Sapochinsky, which allow one to truly feel the atmosphere of Yud Shvat, its spiritual depth, and its historical significance for the Chassidic movement and the Jewish people as a whole.
Unique footage, provided by JEM – Jewish Educational Media, reveals the living connection between generations, conveys the voices of eyewitnesses, and helps to better understand what this pivotal moment, which changed the course of Jewish history, was like. In this video, we become acquainted not only with the facts but also with the inner meaning of Yud Shvat – a day of responsibility, continuity, and the acceptance of a mission.
