A special celebration dedicated to Yud Shvat – the day the leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, assumed leadership – was held at the Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Yeshiva Ketana, the leading educational institution for boys of the Dnipro Jewish Community. The day was filled with vibrant Chassidic events that united students from different grades in a shared atmosphere of spiritual growth and inspiration.
The day’s program began with a joint assembly, after which the boys participated in a unique educational quest dedicated to Yud Shvat. The students watched a video about the Rebbe’s activities, recited verses, familiarized themselves with the history of this special date, and later joined a team game where they could demonstrate their knowledge, camaraderie, and deep interest in the material they are studying. The day continued with personal and focused work; together with their teachers, the boys wrote panim and studied Mishnah as part of an active process that strengthens their unbreakable bond with the Rebbe.
The day concluded with a large farbrengen and the singing of Chassidic niggunim. The students returned to the hall, sat at festive tables, listened to their teachers’ stories about the niggunim, and sang Chassidic melodies together, creating an atmosphere of unity and warmth. A particularly special and moving part was the awarding of students who had memorized lines from the maamar “Basi LeGani 5710.”
The top ten included:
Stambler Yosef Yitzchak, 4th grade – 62 lines;
Susorov David, 4th grade – 62 lines;
Marinovsky Tzvi, 4th grade – 59 lines;
Segal Schneur, 2nd grade – 44 lines;

“This was a very bright celebration that the children prepared for, and we tried to make it interesting, profound, and special, because it is the true birthday for everyone in our generation,” said Rabbi David Vaskovsky. “We are proud of our children, who participated in the quest with such enthusiasm and solved all the puzzles, who sang the niggunim so inspiringly, who diligently studied the lines of the maamar to bring nachas to the Rebbe, and we are happy to be able to give the fire of our hearts and our gratitude for such a fortunate childhood to the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
