“Tea with the Queen” – A Joint Farbrengen for 22 Shevat for Students of Dnipro’s Jewish Educational Institutions

In honor of 22 Shevat—the yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson—a special joint farbrengen took place in Dnipro for students of the International Humanities-Pedagogical Institute “Beit Chana,” students of the Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Jewish Lyceum No. 144, and students of the Chaya Mushka Schneerson Lyceum affiliated with the IHPI “Beit Chana.” The event was warmly and symbolically titled “Tea with the Queen” and was dedicated to deepening the understanding of the Rebbetzin’s character and her unique place in the life of the Rebbe and the entire generation.

Participants were told about the well-known fact that the Rebbe would dedicate special time to the Rebbetzin daily over a cup of tea—and this detail became the starting point for the entire program. As part of the event, a tea workshop was held, during which the girls learned about the significance of various ingredients. Each addition—honey, lemon, cinnamon, or mint—was symbolically connected to specific character traits and a person’s inner world. The participants had the opportunity to taste different types of tea and experience an atmosphere of warmth, tranquility, and heartfelt conversation.

A significant part of the farbrengen was the study of stories related to Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, which helped the girls better understand her modesty, depth, and unique inner strength. A ner neshama candle in memory of the Rebbetzin was lit by Malki Feldman, creating a moving and reflective mood. Students of Beit Chana and both lyceums also recited Mishnayos according to the letters of the Rebbetzin’s name.

The program blended spiritual content with interactive elements. A Kahoot quiz was held for the participants, dedicated to the biography of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka. The girls enthusiastically answered the questions, and the winners received memorable gifts—cups, teapots, thermal mugs, and infusers—that will long remind them of this day.

The farbrengen took place in an extraordinarily warm atmosphere, combining deep meaning, learning, and live conversation, leaving the participants with bright impressions and a sense of personal connection to the Rebbetzin’s legacy.

“The format of this farbrengen helped the girls feel the character of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka in a unique way—her delicacy, modesty, and depth,” said Shlucha of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Leah Lazareva. “Through what seems at first glance to be a simple cup of tea, we spoke about respect, attention, inner refinement, and warm relationships between people. We are sincerely grateful to the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
