At Machon “Chaya-Mushka,” the leading educational institution for girls of the Dnipro Jewish Community, Rosh Chodesh Adar was marked with vibrancy and inspiration. The festive day was built around the theme of “Ve’Nahafochu”—the concept of inner transformation, the ability through joy to turn sorrow around, to change one’s mood, state, and even circumstances for the better.
From the very first moments, the celebration was structured not merely as a discussion but as a lived experience of this idea. The girls worked with images of emojis, finding contrasting expressions that convey different emotions, comparing faces “before” and “after.” They learned to communicate various states through facial expressions, literally demonstrating how one can transform a mood. This visual and emotional exercise helped them internalize more deeply the meaning of the month of Adar—a time when joy becomes a conscious spiritual force.
A particularly powerful impression was made by watching a video of the Rebbe. The story shared within it became the central moment of the program, illustrating how the principle of “Ve’Nahafochu” can change reality. It provided a living example of how inner attitude can transform one’s perception of a situation and influence those around them.
The festive program continued with a dynamic game and an energetic rap, also dedicated to the theme of “Ve’Nahafochu.” Through music and movement, the participants once again articulated the day’s central idea: joy is not passive—it is active and capable of changing the world for the better. Throughout the month of Adar, the students of Machon will continue to return to the theme of joy in their classes, striving to apply “Ve’Nahafochu” in their daily lives.
A practical extension of the theme was the decoration of boxes for future mishloach manos. The girls invested special effort into designing them, infusing their Purim preparations not only with creativity but also with the very idea of “transformation”—turning an ordinary box into a source of joy for another person.
“Rosh Chodesh Adar marked the beginning of a month of conscious joy for our students,” said Machon director Raizel Milman. “We see how through such activities, the girls learn not merely to have fun, but to truly transform their inner state. We are sincerely grateful for the constant care and support of the Machon in all our endeavors from the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki and our dear Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezki.”
