The Dnipro Jewish Community conducted a large-scale Purim campaign distributing holiday packages from the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine. Through this initiative, 2,200 packages were received by community members and participants of various educational, social, and youth programs.
The holiday packages were distributed at multiple locations for maximum convenience: at the community’s educational institutions, at the “Golden Rose” Central Synagogue, and through various social and youth projects. Recipients included members of the Dnipro Jewish Community, beneficiaries of the “Chesed Menachem” Charitable Foundation, participants of the “Beit Sarah” program, students of “Stars” and “Menorah Community,” residents of the “Beit Baruch” Home for the Elderly, as well as other program participants for whom attention, support, and the ability to fully celebrate the holiday are especially meaningful.
This year, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine sent over 48,000 Purim packages to more than 150 communities across the country, ensuring that everyone could experience the authentic atmosphere of Purim and fulfill its mitzvos. Each package included:
A Megillas Esther
A Ukrainian-language Purim guide
Greeting cards
Mishloach manos with kosher treats
A branded FJCU bag
A Purim gragger (noisemaker)
A bottle of kosher “Zubrovka” infusion for holiday spirit and proper fulfillment of the Purim meal custom
Each package contains a letter signed by the Chairman of the Council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine, Rabbi Mayer Stambler, and the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminezki. The letter emphasizes the special relevance of Purim in today’s world: “This story speaks to each of us. Every person has their own gifts, opportunities, and place in life, and all of this is given to us for a reason. Wherever you may be—in the community, at work, or within your family—that is exactly where you can become a source of light, support, and fidelity to tradition. May Purim bring us true joy, strengthen our faith, and help us realize our calling. And from the joy of Purim, may we merit the great joy of the complete and true Redemption!”
The Dnipro Jewish Community expresses sincere gratitude to the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine and its Chairman, Rabbi Mayer Tzvi Stambler, for their constant and comprehensive assistance in developing Jewish community life both in Dnipro and in other cities across Ukraine, for their support of Jewish families, and for spreading the light of Torah and mitzvos throughout the years. These Purim packages will bring the joy of the holiday into tens of thousands of Jewish homes, help Jewish families feel their unbreakable connection to their people and their history, and provide a sense of confidence in the future.
