Another men’s class took place at the “Menorah Community” youth project of the Dnipro Jewish Community, which is actively developing through the efforts of the Zislin family. The session was dedicated to the theme of awakening the G-dly soul within a person and strengthening the inner connection with the Creator.
A special guest at the gathering was Immanuel (Kyrylo) Sydorenko, who opened the class with a short talk on the topical issue “Your Phone Knows More About You Than You Think,” touching upon the influence of modern technology on human life.
The speaker for the meeting was Reb Zalman Rabinovich, and the conversation was structured as a serious men’s discussion on what Judaism means by the G-dly soul and why it is always present within a person, even if not always felt.
During the class, participants carefully examined the practical steps that help awaken the inner connection with the Creator. The discussion covered the significance of Torah study, the performance of mitzvos, prayer, good deeds, and self-improvement, as well as how through these actions a person begins to experience more meaning, light, and spirituality in their life.
A special moment of the class was the presentation of tefillin to one of the project participants, Mykhailo Garber. The gift was made by a great friend of the Dnipro Jewish Community, an activist of the Kyiv Jewish community “JFK,” Aba Nechemya Vogel from Great Britain, thanks to whom Mykhailo Garber now has the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of laying tefillin daily on weekdays.
“When a person begins to work on themselves and awaken their G-dly soul through the study of Torah and the performance of mitzvos, it fills their life with meaning and light,” noted Levi Zislin, director of the “Menorah Community” project. “Such lessons help men strengthen their connection to Torah and tradition, and ultimately, they strengthen our united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki.”
