A children’s farbrengen dedicated to the 2nd of Nissan – the yahrzeit of the Fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Sholom DovBer Schneerson, known as the Rebbe Rashab – took place at the “Beit Zindlicht” Children’s Educational Center, the leading early childhood institution of the Dnipro Jewish Community.
During the farbrengen, the children were introduced to stories from the life of the Rebbe Rashab, seeking through narratives and imagery to connect with his spiritual legacy and understand how tzaddikim influence the life of the Jewish people. Special attention was given to fostering in the children an emotional connection to the events, enabling them not only to hear but also to feel the significance of this special day.
An important part of the program were the skits prepared by the children, through which they were able to experience the stories they heard through play and interaction with one another. This format facilitated a deeper absorption of the content and helped make the gathering engaging and emotionally rich.
In addition to the skits, other forms of creative activity were employed by the “Beit Zindlicht” children under the guidance of their teachers. The farbrengen concluded with a special festive treat, during which the children fully experienced the Chassidic atmosphere and the joy of sharing this significant date on the Jewish calendar together.
“The farbrengen was conducted in an adapted format, yet with deep immersion in the Chassidic atmosphere and an understanding of the importance of this day,” noted kindergarten educator Naomi Chaya Yavorska. “Such gatherings help lay the foundations of Jewish identity from the earliest age and become an important part of the educational process, implemented with the support of the united and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community under the leadership of Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
