A large women’s farbrengen, organized by the Dnipro Jewish Community and dedicated to 11 Nissan – the birthday of the Leader of our generation, the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson – took place in one of the halls of the world’s largest Jewish center, “Menorah,” in the reception hall of the “Pcholkin House.” The Rebbe’s spiritual guidance and leadership are defining factors in the development of Jewish life in communities around the world.
The central theme of the gathering was reflecting on the personal connection to the Rebbe and how this connection manifests in the daily life of every Jewish woman. Participants first watched a video about the Lubavitcher Rebbe and, through the ideas and images they encountered, came to a deeper understanding of what it means to live by aligning one’s actions, decisions, and inner compass with the Rebbe’s teachings.
A special spiritual part of the program was the recitation of Psalm 125, which from this day is recited this year in honor of the Rebbe, as well as the writing of Panim (personal letters), allowing each participant to express her personal requests and experiences, directing them to the Rebbe and thereby feeling a connection that transcends time and space.
The key moment of the farbrengen was an address by Rebbetzin Chana Kaminezki, who shared personal memories of the Rebbe, lending the gathering a special depth and personal dimension. Subsequently, Rabbi Moshe Leib Weber spoke about the importance of a constant connection to the Rebbe and how this connection becomes a source of strength, confidence, and spiritual growth.
A special atmosphere was created by a sumptuous kosher meal, during which participants continued their conversations, shared impressions, and strengthened the sense of unity characteristic of a true Chassidic farbrengen.
The interactive part of the farbrengen was an intellectual game dedicated to the Rebbe, in which participants, divided into teams, answered questions and competed against each other, deepening their knowledge while simultaneously creating an atmosphere of engagement and shared participation.
To conclude the farbrengen, the women enthusiastically made good resolutions in honor of the Rebbe’s birthday, identifying for themselves a specific step in spiritual work that would strengthen their connection to the Leader of the generation. As a reminder of the importance the Rebbe placed on every Jew having kosher matzah for the Pesach holiday, all participants received a gift of “bread of freedom” – matzah – to enable them to fulfill this most important mitzvah on the first evening of the holiday.
“This was a very inspiring and meaningful event, and each of us was able to feel her connection to the Rebbe in a new way, to understand how important it is not merely to know his teachings but to implement them in our daily lives,” noted Shoshanna Weber, organizer of the farbrengen. “When we make good resolutions and strengthen our connection to the Rebbe, we fill our lives with meaning and light. I am certain that our farbrengen, with its sincerity and inspiration, brought great nachas to the Rebbe. I am very proud to be involved in organizing such events, and I wholeheartedly thank our dear, united, and cohesive Dnipro Jewish Community and its Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Kaminezki, for their care for women and for creating a space where we can grow spiritually together.”
