The Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson Yeshiva Ktana, the leading educational institution for boys in the Jewish community of Dnipro, held a special program commemorating the anniversary of 28 Nissan 5751 (1991), when the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe proclaimed that the world’s preparation for the Geula was complete and that what followed depended on each individual’s actions. The day was filled with meaningful work aimed at understanding personal responsibility and moving from knowledge to action.
The program began with a video of the Rebbe’s talk, which included the key words “I have done all I could, now it’s up to you,” setting the tone for all the work that followed. The lesson continued with a story told by Rabbi Levi Engelsman, who related a story related to this day, deepening their understanding of its significance. Afterward, the students were presented with a visual allegory that revealed the inner meaning of this date. The children were introduced to the image of an egg, already hatched and ready for hatching, but which must, however, break through the shell itself to be born. Those who fail to make this effort remain within and fail to realize their inherent potential. This idea was directly related to what the 28th of Nissan demands of a person: to step outside their own “shell,” to overcome the klipa, and to begin real action.
Following this, the students participated in an interactive game in which each class received improvised “eggs” made from sheets of paper containing psukim, with thumbtacks serving as “beaks” to “open” the egg and reveal its contents. After completing the assignment, each class recited the psukim assigned to them, and the others repeated them. This not only reinforced the material but also brought the very idea of emerging from a state of potential into action to life.
Concluding the program, the participants summarized, emphasizing that, like chicks already hatched and ready for life, each of them must realize the power they have received and take their own personal step toward revealing Moshiach.
“The main thing we wanted to convey to the children was the understanding that it’s not enough to be prepared; they must act,” noted Yeshiva Ktana Director Chana Segal. “If the Rebbe said that everything has already been done, then the responsibility for the final step lies with each of us, and we must be prepared to take it in order to bring the Geula closer and express our gratitude to the united and cohesive Jewish Community of Dnipro, led by its Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki.”
